Con Review: Wizard World Portland

What a con! I was only there for Saturday, but it was totally worth it!
I woke up super early to meet up with my friends to begin our drive down, we packed up the car with cosplays, snack and drinks and headed on our way!
We changed into cosplay and got in line right when we got to the convention center. The line was incredibly long, but at least we got to get a semi-tour of the con. I found the set up of the convention center a bit strange, it was like a large circle, there was only one entrance in and out of the dealers hall. My friends and I, of course had a few things we really wanted to get done, and amazingly we managed to do them right away! First we went to what I wanted to do which was meet Yaya Han, buy a print, and give her a paper I wrote about her and cosplay! I was a little nervous about it but was told I kept my cool and she seemed to appreciate my paper. I am a giant 0_0

We then got some of my friend's spiderman comics signed, and got my other friend some con merch! Soon after we decided it was high time to get some food, we waited in one line for about fifteen minutes for some pizza, only to find out they ran out and wouldn't have more for a while. So we walked to the other side of the con to a different food court and stood in line for pizza for about half an hour, only to get one small slice, kind of disappointing. I then ventured on my own to do a photo shoot with Riamux Creations. It was really fun, there weren't too many locations to shoot, but we worked with what we had! I met back up with my friends and we continued to walk through the convention, there were some really cool cosplays that I got a picture of!

There were a ton of other great cosplays but I was unable to get a picture because my phone was dying throughout the day :C. Both my friend (second picture on the right with red glowing eyes) and I got alot of compliments on our cosplays and it was great to see fellow friends from back in Washington there. We walked around to all the shops and saw some cool stuff, my favorite area is always the artist alley because there is always some really cool unique stuff that I have never seen before, and I try really hard not to buy every Venom print I see. But to be honest, I started majorly freaking out when I saw the Impala from Supernatural! It was $20 to get a picture inside of it, but I was already running low on money so I wasn't able to get it.

Eventually my feet started killing me so we took a break for a little while. Heroes of Cosplay were filming at the con, which was evident by the many camera crews and people in all black walking around with headsets. Besides meeting Yaya from the show we also ran into Chloe and Riddle from the show, unfortunately they were in the middle of leaving the convention floor so we didn't get to get any good pictures, but here was one i managed to grab. But there were some real jerks trying to get their picture, yet they obviously had to be somewhere and someone yelling "seriously you cant stay around a little long?" They had been standing in that general area for a few minutes already, and were in a hurry, don't blame them for not doing everything you want. They were very polite about it and said sorry and walked away with their big crew (they were not being filmed at the time). My friend got a street pass from riddle, I am angered with jealousy haha.

We went to sit down for a while and decided to head out of the con and go get some food and then head home, it was about six and the con closed at seven, and I was hoping to be on the road by eight. Of course, coming to Portland we needed to get some Voodoo Doughnuts! So we drove to one location and it was absolutely packed with no parking to be found, so we drove to one a few miles out which was much easier to access. This one was obviously much better because there was a monster on the fence! haha Also you can buy doughnuts by the coffin full, because who wouldn't want to do that!

We grabbed some food and began the long journey back home! Which was filled with many sing alongs, from Frozen to K-pop. It was fun to sing loudly and obnoxiously with more than just myself in the car! I only got a few things at the convention because I didn't want to spend too much money but I got some of the most original art at the con from Andy Fairhurst who made Limbo superheroes! They were so cute and original I had to get one for myself and one for my boyfriend! Here is everything I got! I know it has been a full week since the con but I still haven't put them up! I will probably do that later today~

Thanks for reading everyone! Im going to try to start posing blogs about cool geek stuff I find and about conventions and some cosplay progress as well! So follow along! Also always remember...
